Pierre Mascolo, a British actor of Italian heritage, was born on June 9, 1979, in Wimbledon, London, to a mother of English and Irish descent, Pauline, and a father, CAV. UFF. G. Toni Mascolo OBE, a hairdresser and entrepreneur of Italian origin.
Growing up in Oxshott, Surrey, Pierre attended Reeds School before leaving prematurely to join Italia Conti Musical Theatre School in Barbican, London, at the age of 14. During his time at Italia Conti, he landed his first TV job on a BBC documentary about World War II and performed a solo at Wembley Arena for a charity event, "5 Decades of Love," for the British Heart Foundation, at the age of 16.
Pierre continued his acting education by taking summer courses at RADA and attending The Academy of Drama in Whitechapel, aged 17, for one year. He then began his auditioning process for top drama schools in Great Britain, eventually securing a place at the prestigious Drama Centre London, which has produced notable alumni such as Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, and Michael Fassbender, and classmate Tom Hardy.
After leaving Drama Centre, Pierre has worked steadily in both stage and screen productions, including American-style plays at the Hackney Empire and TV appearances in EastEnders, Love Soup, and Law and Order.
In 2004, Pierre founded his production company, Cipher Films, and produced his first short film, the BAFTA-nominated "NITS." This nomination opened the door to creating feature films, and in 2006, Pierre was the executive producer of the controversial British movie "Kidulthood," in which he also starred as drug dealer Andreas. He reprised his role as SCAR in the feature "Adulthood" in 2008.
Following his successful role in the "Kidulthood" sequel, Pierre continued to work on more roles for British TV. In 2013, he took on a larger role, juggling roles on both sides of the camera as producer and co-star alongside Gabriel Byrne in the British cop thriller "All Things to All Men," which reached a global audience. Working alongside talent such as Toby Stevens and Rufus Sewell, Pierre's drive shows no signs of slowing, and he currently resides with his girlfriend in London.
