Biography

Pia Glenn began her career in the world of theater, where she studied acting at NYU and AMDA. Her first agent mistakenly believed she was a member of Actor's Equity, leading to an impressive payday for her first regional theater appearance. She worked hard to feel worthy of the role, and her efforts paid off when she took over the lead role in the musical Kat and the Kings on Broadway.

Pia has since performed in numerous productions, including both on and Off-Broadway shows, as well as national tours and regional theaters. Her television credits include guest and co-star roles on shows such as Strong Medicine, Hannah Montana, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Some of Pia's favorite stage experiences include being handpicked by Eric Idle and Mike Nichols for the lead role in the 1st National Tour of Monty Python's Spamalot, and being chosen by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay to play a naughty version of Condoleezza Rice in the Broadway show You're Welcome, America: A Final Night With George W. Bush. For her work in this role, Pia won the 2007 Astaire Award for Best Female Dancer on Broadway.

Pia has also had the opportunity to work in film, dancing in Michael Jackson's final long-form video "You Rock My World." She has found creative ways to work this experience into her daily conversations.

In addition to her work as a performer, Pia is also a writer. Her essays have been featured on various websites, including The Daily Beast, Huffington Post, Time, and xoJane.com. She has also been a repeat guest on several MSNBC shows, including The Last Call, The Melissa Harris-Perry Show, and The Beat With Ari Melber.

Pia also has a YouTube channel, where she showcases her comedic and satirical takes on race, gender, and other topics. Her weekly Black Weekend Update videos gained a steady following in 2014, and she wrote, shot, performed, and edited every video herself.

Pia was a staff writer on the first and only season of Comedy Central's The Opposition With Jordan Klepper, a late-night topical political satire from the perspective of a fictional alt-right character version of Jordan Klepper.
