Biography

Since making her theatrical debut in Whose Life is it Anyway alongside the accomplished Tom Conti, she has gone on to build a prolific career in the theatre, marked by numerous performances at esteemed institutions such as the National Theatre.

At the National Theatre, she had the privilege of sharing the stage with the esteemed Anthony Hopkins in Pravda, and also brought her unique interpretation to the role of Sheila Birling in Stephen Daldry's innovative revision of An Inspector Calls.

In addition to her work at the National Theatre, she has also made a significant impact at the Royal Court in London, where she originated the role of Jessica in the Olivier Award-winning Best Comedy of 1994, Hysteria, and starred opposite the illustrious Vanessa Redgrave in Three Sisters.

Her extensive filmography includes a wide range of critically acclaimed productions, such as Heart of Darkness (1994),directed by the visionary Nicholas Roeg, Maurice (1987),Ordeal by Innocence (1984),and The Elephant Man (1980),in which she showcased her remarkable versatility as a performer.

On television, she has been seen in a variety of roles, including the iconic Cordelia in Brideshead Revisited (1981).
