Philippe Guez is a French film producer with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He started his career by creating a movie club in his school and later in his hometown, where he would watch films from around the globe. During his holidays, he would sneak onto movie sets or work as an extra to learn about filmmaking.
Guez attended l' E.S.E.C film school in 1976 and graduated in 1979. He began his professional career as a First Assistant Director, working on various films, television dramas, music videos, and commercials.
In 1985, he was appointed in-house producer/line producer at Sara Films, where he created and ran a section dedicated to first-time directors. He later founded Septième Productions and produced several films, including "Rendez-Vous au Tas de Sable", "Périgord Noir", and "The Liars".
Guez has worked on numerous international productions, including "Zentropa", "Laps of Memory", "Innocent Lies", "Cousin Bette", and "The Luzhin Defense". He has also produced several films for the French market, including "Nabila's Letter" and "London mon Amour".
In 2003, Guez restructured his production company to focus on the French market and produced "Nabila's Letter" and "London mon Amour". He has also written and directed several shorts, including "Marianne", which was screened in major film festivals and aired on French prime-time television.
Since 2011, Guez has worked under Peedjee Films, his new production and consulting company. He has produced several films, including "For A Woman", "Les Morues", and "Sweatheart". He has also supervised the production of numerous shows for Netflix, including "La Terre et Le Sang", "Sentinelle", and "Ganglands".
In 2022, Guez supervised the production of "Notre Dame, la Part du Feu", a TV mini-series for Netflix, and "Ganglands" season 2. He is currently preparing to produce a feature film "Funny Birds" and a TV mini-series "BRI".
