Biography

Peter Anthony is a multi-award-winning director and screenwriter with a rich and diverse background in the arts. His journey began with a bachelor's degree in architecture from École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, which he earned in 1996. He then furthered his education by graduating from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen with a bachelor's degree in architecture in 1999.

Initially, Anthony worked as an architect and art director, accumulating numerous award-winning assignments. However, his passion for direction and storytelling eventually led him to venture into the world of film. He honed his skills as a director, screenwriter, and producer, working on various projects, including theater, documentary filmmaking, and feature short films.

Anthony's early work as a set designer earned him an Emmy for his contributions to Denmark's Radio's interactive flagship program, ROFL, in 2001. Since then, he has accumulated over 15 years of experience in the film industry, working on numerous national international and productions.

As a producer, Anthony has worked on various projects, including the music video for Danish rapper LOC, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video. He has also directed and produced several short films, including Fat Boy and Candela, which premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Anthony's international debut as a feature-length film director was with The Man Who Saved the World, a hybrid drama that tells the epic Cold War thriller of Stanislav Petrov. The film showcases Anthony's versatility, as he contributed as a scriptwriter, co-editor, set design consultant, and graphic designer.

The film has received widespread recognition, being selected for several film festivals, including HotDocs Toronto, Copenhagen International Documentary Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, and Starz Denver Film Festival. The Man Who Saved the World was nominated for several awards, including the Nordic:Dox Award for Best Feature Documentary and the Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary.

Anthony's latest project is Nordic Narcos, a TV-series about the biggest drug lords in Scandinavia, starting with season one: The Viking.
