Born in the vibrant city of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Ilic's early life was deeply impacted by the tumultuous times, as his father, renowned film director Mihailo Ilic, found himself banned and imprisoned during the Tito regime. This tumultuous backdrop had a profound effect on Ilic's formative years, shaping his perspective and influencing his future endeavors.

As a young lad, Ilic attended elementary school in the Karaburma suburb of Belgrade, before transferring to various other elementary schools and high schools within the city. This eclectic educational experience would later serve as a valuable foundation for his future pursuits.

However, it was not until 1983 that Ilic's breakthrough in the media sphere arrived, courtesy of his stint as a singer and actor in the critically acclaimed Yugoslav film "Something in Between". This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career in the entertainment industry.
