Tara Prendergast, a talented actress, initially bid farewell to her acting career in 1966 upon marrying George Cole, shortly after giving birth to her son, Toby, in 1941. However, her passion for acting was reignited when she landed the role of a dragon landlady with a penchant for Arfur in the popular television series Minder.
This renewed enthusiasm for her craft led her to take on the character of Ellie Butler in the children's television serial Running Scared. Since 1979, Prendergast has been the driving force behind Mrs. Coles' Music Hall, a beloved annual Christmas production that originated as a charity venture at The Mill at Sonning in Berkshire.
