Paul Michael Slayton, professionally known as Paul Wall, is an American rapper and DJ born on March 11, 1981. Throughout his career, he has been closely affiliated with Swishahouse Records, releasing multiple albums under the label and collaborating with numerous rappers signed to the label.
Paul Wall began his music career performing alongside fellow Houston-based artist Chamillionaire, with whom he released several albums, including the independently released "Get Ya Mind Correct" in 2002. This marked the beginning of his successful career as a rapper.
In 2005, Paul Wall signed with Atlantic Records and released his major-label debut, "The Peoples Champ", which brought him widespread recognition. This was followed by "Get Money, Stay True" in 2007. Throughout his career, Paul Wall has been nominated for one Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance as a Duo or Group for his collaboration with rapper Nelly on the song "Grillz".
