Porter, a seasoned individual, hailed from Iola, Kansas, where his life's trajectory would take a dramatic turn, setting him on a path of dedicated service to his country. For a remarkable 13 years, he served as an active-duty United States Marine, braving the unforgiving terrain of Iraq twice, a testament to his unwavering courage and unshakeable commitment to his nation.
But his military exploits didn't stop there. Porter's passion for service led him to serve in the California and North Carolina Air National Guard, as well as the Maryland National Guard. His impressive military career, however, would come to a close with one notable exception: the United States Navy, the only branch of the military he had yet to be a part of.
As he transitioned from the military to civilian life, Porter's thirst for knowledge and creative expression led him to pursue higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film from the prestigious University of New Mexico, and later, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Producing for Film and Television from the esteemed New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.
Today, Porter continues to hone his craft as an independent producer/director, working on a freelance basis in addition to holding full-time positions as a video producer with various government and private agencies. His remarkable journey, marked by a deep sense of duty, a thirst for knowledge, and a passion for creative expression, serves as a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft and his country.
