Biography

Paul Hoen is a renowned American film director and producer, widely recognized for his exceptional directorial work with Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, particularly his contributions to Disney Channel Original Movies. His impressive repertoire includes directing and producing numerous projects, such as The Cheetah Girls: One World (2008),Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010),Zombies (2018),Zombies 2 (2020),and Zombies 3 (2022).

Prior to his illustrious career, Hoen pursued a degree in drama, film, and television at the University of Santa Clara. He was subsequently admitted to the prestigious Directors Guild of America in 1987. Since then, he has directed a multitude of television films, including Jump In, Read It and Weep, Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off, You Wish!, Tru Confessions starring Shia LaBeouf, and the comedy The Luck of the Irish starring Ryan Merriman.

Notably, both Jump In and Luck of the Irish, upon their initial airing, were the highest-rated programs on the Disney Channel. Hoen has received numerous accolades for his work, including two DGA awards for Jump In and Let It Shine. He has also been nominated for three other DGA awards for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, "Take My Sister Please," an episode from the series Even Stevens, and Searching for David's Heart, the ABC Family Movie starring Danielle Panabaker.

Furthermore, the film Searching for David's Heart was also nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Family Television Movie or Special, with Danielle Panabaker winning the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a TV Movie. Additionally, the film received the 2005 Humanitas Prize, and You Wish!, Jump In, and Zombies were all nominated for Humanitas Prizes.
