Paul Campbell is widely regarded as Jamaica's most popular contemporary actor, both on screen and stage. His distinctive voice is well-known in Jamaica, where he serves as the voice of Fame-FM, delivering the station's many sound bites. He is recognized not only in Jamaica, but also throughout the Caribbean, African American communities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, and throughout Africa, for his outstanding performances in various films and television shows.
His notable roles include the villainous priest in the film "Dancehall Queen" (1997),the heroic cop Capone in "Third World Cop" (1999),and a leading role in the film "Lunatic" (1991). He has also appeared in several soon-to-be-released films, including "Jamaica Beat" with Sheryl Lee Ralph and "Wide Sargasso Sea" on Showtime.
In addition to his film work, Campbell has had a successful career in television, starring in leading roles in shows such as "Entry Denied", "Final Verdict", "Country of the one-Eyed God", and "Salome" for Television Jamaica Corporation.
On stage, Campbell has appeared in numerous productions, including "Intermission", "Flame Heart", "Checkers", "The Mikado", "White Witch of Rose Hall", "Foreign Mind", "Masquerade", and "Mansong" for various prestigious theater companies.
