Parker Stevenson's early life was marked by a peculiar encounter when he was just five years old, as his mother, a talented actress who had numerous television commercials under her belt, took him to a filming session, resulting in two small but significant television appearances that would lay the foundation for his future endeavors.
However, his father, an investment advisor with a keen sense of financial acumen, viewed the acting profession with skepticism, and despite Parker's brief appearances in a few play productions at Brooks School, he had no aspirations to follow in his mother's footsteps and pursue a career in acting.
In a surprising turn of events, Parker discovered a passion for rowing, and he went on to join the Brooks School crew, participating in the prestigious Princess Elizabeth Cup Race at the renowned Henley Regatta. His rowing skills continued to flourish, and later at Princeton, he rowed with the freshman lightweight crew team, leading them to victory in the 1971-72 eastern sprint races.
