Biography

Pam Hogg is a Scottish fashion designer, singer, artist, and DJ who rose to fame in the 1980s. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Hogg studied Fine Art and Printed Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art, where she won several awards and scholarships. She then went on to study at the Royal College of Art in London, earning her Masters of Art degree.

Hogg's fashion career began in the early 1980s, when she launched her first fashion collection. She was one of the new wave of designers who emerged in London during this time, along with Bodymap. Her collections were known for their bold, psychedelic designs and were often named after popular culture references, such as "Psychedelic Jungle" and "Wild Wild Women of the West."

Hogg's designs were worn by many famous celebrities, including Ian Astbury of The Cult, Paula Yates, Marie Helvin, Siouxsie Sioux, and Debbie Harry of Blondie. She also had a minor hit with the Acid House band The Garden of Eden, which she formed with Steve Jackson, Angela McCluskey, and Mark Tinley.

In the 1990s, Hogg's focus shifted to music, and she formed the band Doll with Debbie Harry as her support act. She also made a brief appearance on stage with industrial noise band Pigface and opened for the post-punk band The Raincoats.

In the 2000s, Hogg returned to fashion, designing two catwalk collections and a fashion film called "Accelerator." She also wrote and directed a script for a film and made cameo appearances in several movies. In 2003, she formed a band called Hoggdoll with Jason Buckle, which released several tracks and built an underground following.

Hogg has continued to work in fashion and music, designing costumes for Siouxsie Sioux's 2004 world tour and exhibiting her art in several shows, including the traveling exhibition "Switch on the Power" alongside Yoko Ono, Leigh Bowery, Warhol, and Kraftwerk. In 2007, Kylie Minogue appeared in Hogg's black mesh metal studded cat suit in her "2 Hearts" video, and Siouxsie Sioux wore several of Hogg's cat suits during her 2008 tour.

In recent years, Hogg has designed wedding dresses for Lady Mary Charteris and has been honored for her achievements, including winning the Creative Excellence prize from the Scottish Council in 2013. Her designs have been worn by many celebrities, including Lady Gaga, Jessie J, Kelly Rowland, Tyra Banks, Alice Dellal, Jamie Winstone, Rihanna, Daisy Lowe, Lily Allen, Peaches Geldof, Naomi Campbell, and Claudia Schiffer.
