Pablo Proenza, a critically acclaimed filmmaker, has been receiving rave reviews for his work since his breakout film, a 33-minute, 16mm short titled ViDi, was screened at festivals worldwide.
A passionate cinephile from a young age, Pablo was given his first camera at the age of eight, marking the beginning of his journey in all aspects of film production: writing, directing, producing, shooting, and editing.
Born to Cuban-American immigrant parents, an economist for the United Nations and a gifted ceramicist, Pablo had an international upbringing in Washington, D.C., San Jose, Costa Rica, Rome, Italy, and Miami, Florida.
During this time, Pablo was educated in two different school systems, British and American, and grew up fully trilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Italian fluently. These diverse experiences have had a profound influence on Pablo's work, including his highly acclaimed thesis film, Vidi, a futuristic love story chronicling a long-distance videophone relationship.
Pablo's most recent film is the feature-length supernatural thriller, Dark Mirror (2008),which he wrote and directed, solidifying his reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
