Otgonjargal Davaasuren, a renowned Mongolian singer and actress, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Born in Bayankhongor Province, Otgonjargal grew up in Darkhan, the youngest of five siblings, with three older brothers and two older sisters. Her father, a transport driver, had a unique talent for opera singing, which may have influenced Otgonjargal's decision to pursue a career in the arts.
Otgonjargal attended secondary school in Darkhan before graduating from the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture as an opera singer. She went on to become a free agent after leaving the Mongolian State Philharmonic. In 2013, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the Spring Festival in Korea, and in 2014, she received the Outstanding Female Lead Actress award for her role in the musical "Sacred Muse" in Mongolia.
In addition to her acting career, Otgonjargal has also been recognized for her cultural contributions. She was awarded the Cultural Merit Worker of Mongolia in 2013. Otgonjargal is also a devoted mother to her daughter and has been involved in various projects, including the film "Queen Anu/Warrior Princess," which depicts the life of Queen Anu, the spouse of Galdan Boshughtu, the Khan of Dzungaria.
The film, directed by Baatarsuren Shuudertsetseg, features a star-studded cast, including M.Myagmar as Galdan Boshugtu Khan, and over 50 roles, with a crew of more than 500 people. The film is based on the book of the same name, written by Baatarsuren Shuudertsetseg, who also directed and produced the film. This marks a significant milestone for Mongolia, as it is the second film about a queen, following "Mandukhai Tsetsen Khatan" (Mandukhai the Wise),which was made in 1989.
Otgonjargal's role in the film is particularly notable, as she played the role of Queen Anu, who had several children, including Yumjhai, who was played by Otgonjargal's own daughter in her childhood years.
