Born in Calgary, Alberta, Oshini's artistic journey began with rigorous training in dance at the esteemed Ailey School and Dance Theatre of Harlem School in New York. Her exceptional skills earned her the prestigious Queen's Golden Jubilee Award in the performing arts, bestowed upon her by the province of Alberta in 2011.
Following her successful dance career, Oshini transitioned to the world of animation, enrolling in Seneca College's esteemed program in Toronto. Her impressive portfolio boasts an array of notable clients, including Disney and Netflix, for whom she has created captivating animation for series, video games, short films, and original feature films by HighballTV.
Oshini's creative prowess extends to the realm of filmmaking, having written and directed the critically acclaimed short film, What I Meant To Say, which took home the Best Short award at the CineFAM Film Festival in 2021. Her one-woman show, Brown People Can't Be Ballerinas, is set to premiere at the Mississauga Multilingual Fringe Festival in August 2023.
When not honing her craft, Oshini dedicates her time to arts education, directing community theatre productions, and nurturing the next generation of artists.
