Oran Stainbrook is a multi-talented individual, with a wide range of professional pursuits and personal interests. Born into a family with a rich history of underground mining and labor, Oran defied the odds by becoming a first-generation college graduate, earning a degree in architecture from Portland State University.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Oran expanded his knowledge by delving into the fields of biotecture and permaculture. He was subsequently accepted into a prestigious dual Masters program in city planning and landscape architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, but unfortunately, he was forced to drop out due to the exorbitant cost of the program and the crushing burden of student loan debt.
Undeterred, Oran went on to gain valuable experience working with Habitat for Humanity San Francisco as a construction foreman in their Neighborhood Revitalization program. This experience laid the foundation for his eventual founding of recollab, a rural development group dedicated to initiating innovative, collaborative real estate and land development projects.
When he's not busy with his acting and filmmaking pursuits, Oran can be found engaging in his other passions, such as wielding a hammer and tending to the garden at The Store, recollab's creative retreat nestled in the high-mountain desert of central Utah.
