Biography

Person Biography:

Or grew up in Israel, where he developed a profound sense of the divisive nature of prejudice and a deep-seated feeling of social responsibility from a very young age. This early exposure to the complexities of social issues led him to become involved with various civil liberties and animal rights organizations, igniting a passion within him for filmmaking as a teenager.

Or's involvement in the film and television industry has been multifaceted, as he has worked in a range of roles and pursued several independent projects. His accomplishments include helping establish a UN TV channel in Africa and opening his own production company, demonstrating his willingness to take on new challenges. In 2010, Or released his first feature-length film, PLANEAT, which he made entirely independently. The film received widespread critical acclaim, with The Times describing it as "earth-shattering," The Herald proclaiming it "should be compulsory viewing," and Empire Magazine praising his filmmaking style as "utterly compelling" and Total Film describing it as "punchy and inspirational."

Or's inspiration to work on another film, 'Don't Leave Us Kids Alone!,' came from his brother Amir. Amir had a simple yet powerful idea to open a school in Israel for children from both sides of the religious divide. He believed that by teaching children that they share basic human values and that empathy can be cultivated through a sense of similarity, he could contribute to building a brighter future. This idea resonated deeply with Or, who saw the potential for his film to make a positive impact and inspire change.
