Omid Djalili is a multifaceted individual, born in London to Iranian parents who adhered to the Baha'i faith. He pursued higher education, earning degrees in English and Theatre Studies.
As a talented actor, he has recently appeared in prominent roles such as Sir Fantumar in the Netflix Global drama The Letter for the King (2020) and in the HBO/BBC series His Dark Materials (2019).
Throughout his career, Omid has received numerous accolades, including being a Perrier Award nominee in 2002 and an Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize winner in 2016. His impressive filmography boasts a wide range of projects, including the smash hits Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018),the Oscar-nominated Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015),and the Oscar-winning Gladiator (2000).
