Biography

Olga Kurylenko, a talented Ukrainian-French actress and model, rose from humble beginnings to international stardom, including a memorable turn as a Bond girl alongside Daniel Craig. Born Olga Konstantinovna Kurylenko on November 14, 1979, in Berdyansk, Ukraine, Soviet Union, she spent her early years living with her aunt, uncle, grandparents, and cousin in a cramped flat, struggling to make ends meet.

After her parents' divorce, Olga's mother, Marina Alyabysheva, worked tirelessly as an art teacher to provide for her daughter. Olga was raised by her mother and grandmother, Raisa, who instilled in her a strong sense of resilience and determination. Despite the family's poverty, Olga's mother encouraged her to pursue her passions, enrolling her in art and language classes, as well as piano lessons at a local school of music.

At the age of 13, Olga and her mother traveled to Moscow, where she was discovered by a modeling agent at a subway station. Initially hesitant, Olga's mother eventually allowed her to accept training as a model in Moscow, which proved to be a wise decision. By 16, Olga had established herself as a successful model, appearing on the covers of top fashion magazines and becoming the face of several prominent brands.

In 1999, Olga married French photographer Cedric Van Mol, but the couple divorced three and a half years later. Undeterred, Olga continued to pursue her modeling career, eventually presenting herself to an acting agency. Her decision to trade the catwalk for the movie screen proved to be a wise one, as she made her film debut in 2005 with a sensual performance in The Ring Finger.

Olga's subsequent roles showcased her natural beauty and explicit nudity, attracting the attention of male audiences worldwide. She appeared opposite Elijah Wood in Paris, Je T'aime and as Sofia in The Snake, before co-starring as Russian beauty Nika Boronina opposite Timothy Olyphant in Hitman. Her performance as Mina Harud in the indie thriller Tyranny further solidified her reputation as a talented and fearless actress.

On Christmas Eve 2007, Olga received the offer of a lifetime: co-starring as Camille, the Bond girl, opposite Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace. The international success of this film cemented her status as a global star, and she went on to appear in various TV productions in Russia and Ukraine.

In 2012, Olga was cast as Julia in the Sci-Fi adventure Oblivion, opposite Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. Throughout her career, Olga Kurylenko has consistently demonstrated her versatility, talent, and dedication to her craft, earning her a place among the most respected and beloved actresses in the industry.
