N.T. Rama Rao Jr., affectionately referred to as Tarak or Jr NTR, is a renowned action star and the grandson of the legendary Telugu actor and politician N.T. Rama Rao, who also hails from the esteemed Nandamuri family and has made a significant mark in the Telugu film industry.
Born on May 20th, 1983, in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now in Telangana),India, Tarak is the son of Nandamuri Harikrishna and Shalini Rao. As a child, he was trained in the traditional Kuchipudi dance form and showcased his skills through numerous stage performances in India and abroad, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
Tarak's acting career began with a bang when acclaimed Telugu director Gunasekhar selected him to play the iconic role of Lord Ram in the children's film Ramayanam (1996),marking his debut in the world of cinema. Following his early start in TV serials, he made his adult debut in movies with Ninnu Choodalani (2001) directed by V.R. Pratap, and since then, he has starred in over thirty movies in leading roles, earning him widespread recognition and accolades.
Throughout his illustrious career, Tarak has received numerous prestigious awards, including two Filmfare Awards, two Nandi awards, and four CineMAA awards, solidifying his position as one of the most successful stars in the Telugu film industry.
