Nour Wazzi, the acclaimed Lebanese filmmaker, has made a significant impact in the industry with her impressive body of work. As the 2023 Screen Star of Tomorrow, she has received widespread recognition for her exceptional talent. Wazzi's feature film debut, the Netflix thriller "Locked In," was written by Rowan Joffe and produced by Nicky Bentham and Alison Jackson. The film boasts an all-star cast, including Famke Janssen, Rose Williams, Finn Cole, Alex Hassel, and Anna Friel.
Prior to "Locked In," Wazzi directed several award-winning shorts and the BBC3 series "The Break." Her most recent project was the Netflix sci-fi adventure show "The Last Bus," which premiered in April 2022 and starred Robert Sheehan and up-and-coming talent like Lauryn Ajufo and Moosa Mustafa. This achievement made her one of the first Arabs in the UK to break into high-end TV.
