Biography

Norman T. Herman, a native of Newark, New Jersey, embarked on his educational journey at Rutgers University and later attended New York University. His entry into the film industry commenced in 1955 as an accountant at American International Pictures, a position he held before transitioning to become a producer.

During his tenure at AIP, Herman was responsible for producing a diverse range of films, including the 1956 release Hot Rod Girl, the 1970 film Bloody Mama, and the 1972 film Blacula. Furthermore, he directed a pair of exploitation "documentaries" in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

However, Herman's career trajectory took a different path, as he spent most of his professional life occupying various executive positions at multiple studios. Despite this, he did venture into scriptwriting for several television series in the 1960s, with one notable example being the 1967 series The Invaders.
