Nobutaka Nishizawa embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of animation, making his debut as a technical director on the TV animation series "Hustle Punch" from 1965 to 1966. His impressive work on this project paved the way for him to direct episodes of other notable series, including "Muretsu Ataro", "Gegege no Kitaro", and "Great Mazinger".
As his career continued to flourish, Toei Animation offered him the esteemed opportunity to direct the second film based on the manga by Gô Nagai & Dynamic Pro, titled "Mazinger-Z Vs. General Darkness" in 1974. This milestone in his career was a testament to his growing reputation as a skilled director.
The following year, Nishizawa directed several episodes of the highly acclaimed TV series "Galaxy Express 999" created by the renowned Reiji Matsumoto. His outstanding work on this project resulted in his promotion to chief director of several TV movies and the second film of the series, "Galaxy Express 999: Clea of Glass" in 1980.
Furthermore, Nishizawa also served as the chief director of the entire "Shonan Bakusozoku: Bomber Bikers of Shonan" Original Video Animation series, which spanned from 1986 to 1998. Throughout his illustrious career, Nishizawa has consistently demonstrated his exceptional skill and dedication to the world of animation.
