Biography

Nisha Ganatra is a celebrated director and producer, renowned for her outstanding work in the film and television industry. Her impressive credits include being a Golden Globe winner and an Emmy nominee for her role as Director/Producer of the critically acclaimed series "Transparent".

Ganatra's recent directorial endeavors include the feature film "THE HIGH NOTE" for Working Title and Focus Features, which boasts an impressive cast featuring Tracee Ellis Ross, Ice Cube, June Diane Raphael, Dakota Johnson, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

Prior to this, Ganatra directed the film "LATE NIGHT", starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling, which premiered at Sundance and went on to secure a record-breaking deal with Amazon, garnering the highest streaming numbers of the year.

Ganatra's debut feature film "CHUTNEY POPCORN", featuring Jill Hennessy and Sakina Jaffrey, received widespread acclaim and won audience awards at numerous prestigious film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival, Newport Film Festival, and Outfest Los Angeles, among others.

Her sophomore feature film "COSMOPOLITAN", starring Carol Kane and Roshan Seth, premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival.

In addition to her film work, Ganatra has made significant contributions to the world of television. She directed the pilot episode of "Highland", a drama project that was sold to ABC, as well as a comedy pilot to NBC, produced by Amy Poehler.
