Nisan, a renowned director based in London and Istanbul, has made a significant impact in the film industry over the past decade. Her impressive body of work includes directing a diverse range of high-end series and independent films.
Her feature films, 'Across the Sea' and 'When I'm Done Dying', have garnered international recognition and accolades, competing and winning numerous awards at prestigious festivals worldwide. These include the Warsaw Film Festival, Slamdance, Tallinn Black Nights, and the Santa Barbara Film Festival, among others.
Notably, Nisan's films have received support from esteemed institutions such as the Berlinale, Eurimages, Hamburg Film Fund, Nipkow Programm, Visions Sud Est, and more.
In addition to her feature films, Nisan has also made a mark in the television industry. She directed both seasons of the Netflix series 'Midnight at the Pera Palace', which achieved remarkable success, remaining in the Global Top 10 for over a month.
Nisan's work in television continued with her collaboration with concept director Niels Oplev on the series 'The Turkish Detective', produced by Miramax and Paramount. The series aired on BBC, ARTE, and SVT.
