Jan Niklas Ek is a Swedish individual who has made a name for himself as a premier dancer and actor, with a rich familial background that includes his parents, renowned choreographer Birgit Cullberg and accomplished actor Anders Ek.
With a late start to his dancing career at the age of 19, Niklas Ek has since undergone rigorous training in both Stockholm and New York, under the tutelage of esteemed dance masters such as Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, and Antony Tudor.
As a leading dancer at the prestigious Cullberg Ballet, Ek has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most respected names in the dance world, including Ohad Naharin, John Cranko/Fokine, José Limón, Kenneth MacMillan, and Frederick Ashton.
