Biography

Niels Arestrup, a renowned French actor and writer, was born on February 8, 1949, in the charming city of Montreuil, which was formerly known as Seine, but is now part of the Seine-Saint-Denis department, situated in the Île-de-France region of France.

Throughout his illustrious career, Arestrup gained recognition for his outstanding performances in a variety of films, including the critically acclaimed "A Prophet" released in 2009, the visually stunning "War Horse" which premiered in 2011, and the poignant and powerful "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" released in 2007.

In his personal life, Arestrup was married to the lovely Isabelle Le Nouvel, and the couple shared a deep and abiding love for one another.

Tragically, Niels Arestrup's life was cut short when he passed away on December 1, 2024, in Ville d'Avray, a picturesque commune located in the Hauts-de-Seine department, also situated in the Île-de-France region of France.
