Niclas Larsson embarked on his acting career at a young age, and simultaneously began experimenting with directing his own short films and music videos, utilizing borrowed camera equipment from his work on various productions. Following his graduation from theatre school in 2009, he pursued further education at the esteemed USC Cinema School.
By the age of 21, Larsson had completed his critically acclaimed short film, Vatten (2013),which garnered him the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for 'Best Short' at the prestigious Gothenburg Film Festival in 2013. This accomplishment not only solidified his reputation as a talented young filmmaker but also caught the attention of the advertising industry, which soon recognized Larsson's exceptional visual storytelling skills. He went on to become one of the world's top commercial directors, joining the ranks of renowned directors such as Spike Jonze and Mike Mills at the prestigious production house MJZ.
In 2018, Larsson released his highly acclaimed short film, "In The Long Run," for Mercedes, a poignant family story with a surprising twist that earned him a plethora of awards. He was awarded the AD-Club Gold for directing and writing, and was also nominated for 'Best Director' and 'Best Script' at Cannes Lions.
Larsson is also the director of two celebrated shorts made for Vogue, featuring Alicia Vikander and Anna Wintour: The Magic Diner (2015) and The Magic Diner Pt.II (2018).
