Nicholas Brooks, the son of comedy legend Mel Brooks, has spent over two decades working in the entertainment industry.
His first screenplay, Pumped!, was optioned by MCEG Entertainment, while his fourth screenplay, Bugwars, was purchased outright by Brooksfilms Ltd. and is currently in development.
As a screenwriter, Nicholas focuses on a wide range of genres, including thriller, comedy, horror, and science fiction.
In addition to his work as a screenwriter, Nicholas has also worked as a story editor for Brooksfilms Ltd. for over twenty years. During his tenure, he has assisted in the selection of projects and overseen the story development of numerous notable motion pictures.
Nicholas has also worked as a story editor and consultant for other motion picture development companies, including Vestron Pictures. At Vestron, he provided creative and story input on projects such as Dirty Dancing and Young Guns.
In addition to his work in film, Nicholas has also written advertising copy, owned his own computer game company, and worked as a financial consultant, specializing in motion picture finance.
Nicholas collaborated with Stephen Lancellotti on the screenplay for the feature comedy Stuck in the Eighties and the story for Uncle Ed's Project.
He also directed and produced the feature comedy Sam, which was executive produced by Mel Brooks and starred Natalie Knepp, Sean Kleier, Stacy Keach, Morgan Fairchild, Bryan Batt, James McCaffrey, and Tom Pelphrey. Sam premiered at the Nashville Film Festival.
Currently, Nicholas is working on several new story ideas for both television and graphic novels. He has recently collaborated on two teleplays with Craig Nobbs and is working on a third.
