Ng'endo Mukii is a renowned and accomplished film director, celebrated for her thought-provoking documentary-animation, "Yellow Fever", which delves into the profound impact of Western influences on African women's perceptions of beauty.
At the esteemed Design Indaba conference, Ng'endo presented a captivating talk, "Film Taxidermy and Re-Animation", in which she proposed the innovative use of animation as a means of revitalizing and humanizing the indigenous image, thereby combating the pervasive stereotypes that often define the "Other".
Ng'endo's academic background is equally impressive, with a Bachelor's degree from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, and a Master of Arts in Animation from the renowned Royal College of Art. Her extensive list of accolades includes being an alumnus of the esteemed Berlinale Talents, the distinguished Urucu Media REALNESS Screenwriter's Residency, and the incredible Goethe Institute Bahia Vila Sul artists' residency.
In addition to her impressive directorial credits, Ng'endo is also a writer on the popular Netflix series, Mama K's Team 4, and one of the 10 directors selected for the forthcoming Disney+ and Triggerfish animated anthology, Kizazi Moto:Generation Fire.
