Biography

Neritan Zinxhiria, a cinematic visionary, was born in Tirana and nurtured in Athens. His cinematic journey began at the historic Cinema Trianon in Greece, where he crafted his first short film at the tender age of 18. Four years later, his second short film, "Chamomile", won all major Greek film festivals, solidifying his reputation as a rising talent.

This groundbreaking film was not only celebrated in Greece but also recognized internationally by Cineuropa as one of the most important short films of 2013. His subsequent short, "The Time of A Young Man About To Kill", a prize winner in Ingolstadt, Germany, was produced by esteemed filmmakers Gabriele Oricchio and Valeria Golino, and shot on location in Italy.

In 2016, Neritan presented "A Country of Two", an innovative experimental film comprising found footage and photographs. This critically acclaimed work had a successful run in film festivals, art venues, and museums worldwide, including the New Museum, DESTE, Encounters IFF, Festival Des Cinemas Differents de Paris/Pompidou.

Throughout his career, Neritan has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2018 Artworks Excellence Award from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. His films have been screened in over 200 film festivals globally, showcasing his versatility and creative range.

One of his most notable achievements is "Light of Light", a Slamdance Grand Prix winner that premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, earning a nomination for a Tiger Short Award.
