Born on January 23rd, 1980, in Exeter, Devon, England, Neil co-founded Rendered Pictures, a production and VFX company, with his wife Amanda Rowe in 2015.
Initially, Neil started his career as a 3D Animator, working as a 'lead technical artist' for over 13 years before transitioning into visual effects and filmmaking. He has gained extensive knowledge and experience, making him a sought-after visual effects artist, having worked on numerous films worldwide.
Neil's foray into filmmaking began in 2009 with the short film Half Asleep, which he wrote and directed, and was entered into the Virgin Media Shorts Film Festival.
In March 2015, Neil established his own film production studio and VFX studio, Rendered Pictures. His company's first feature-length film, Robot World (working title Reconnoiter),was written, produced, and directed by Neil. The film has won numerous awards, including best feature at the Unreal Film Festival in Memphis, best director at the Hyperdrive Film Festival, UK, best VFX award at the Other Worlds Austin festival, and official selection status at the Deep Fried Film Festival in the UK and Boston Sci-Fi Festival.
In February 2020, Neil's second feature film, Alien Outbreak, was released in the USA and subsequently worldwide. Alien Outbreak is a sci-fi horror feature film, co-produced with his wife and older brother Ian Rowe. The film has achieved notable successes, including winning best feature at the Berlin Sci-Fi Festival in 2020 and at the Horror Showfest 2021, as well as official selection at the Horror Hound Film Festival 2020, Scare-a-Con Film Festival, France, and best director at the Caligari International Horror Film Festival 2021.
In addition to writing, producing, and directing, Neil provides visual effects for other filmmakers, having also won awards for his visual effects work on other projects.
