Neil's journey in acting began in 1996 when he enrolled in an evening class taught by Chris Martin, a seasoned actor and instructor who had previously appeared in Mike Leigh's groundbreaking film Bleak Moments, in his hometown of Leicester. This marked the starting point of Neil's fascination with the craft of acting, which would eventually become his career.
Initially, Neil began his acting endeavors in amateur theatre productions. However, after being made redundant from his factory job at the end of 1999, he decided to take the leap and pursue acting full-time. This pivotal moment in his life ultimately led to Neil turning professional as an actor in the year 2000.
Throughout his career, Neil has accumulated an impressive array of television credits, including appearances in notable shows such as Peak Practice, The Armando Iannucci Shows, Crossroads, Judge John Deed, Dalziel & Pascoe, Sweet Medicine, Eastenders, A Thing Called Love, Doctors, The Afternoon Play, Crimewatch, Eleventh Hour, The Shell Seekers, All In The Game, Mayo & Goldplated.
