Biography

Neil, a native of Waterloo, Canada, embarked on a journey to hone his skills in the Media Arts program at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. During his time at the esteemed institution, he garnered multiple award nominations for his outstanding work, including Best Documentary for Behind the Sausage, Best Director for Dogstar, and Best Editing for Motel Poets. Moreover, he was honored with the Most Outstanding Graduating Student Award in his final year.

Following his graduation, Neil joined Magee TV, a television production company founded by Al Magee, as the Producer of Web and Special Projects. In this role, he played a pivotal part in the production, post-production, and design aspects of various projects, such as The Smart Woman Survival Guide, Everyday Exotic, Superstar Hair Challenge, The Men, and Night Chef. Notably, Night Chef won the prestigious 2011 Banff International Pilots Competition in the Entertainment Programs category.

Parallel to his work at Magee TV, Neil began to focus on developing a career as a director and editor. He co-founded Gorilla Milkshake Productions with Desmond Sargeant, a partnership aimed at fostering their creative and collaborative style of work. Under this banner, they have produced several award-winning projects, including the short films Patient and Guys Night, the web series Andy and the Upside (15th Annual Webby Award Official Honoree),and the comedy/horror film I Kill Monsters. Additionally, they have created commercials and music videos for artists like Vinyl Heart, further solidifying their reputation in the industry.
