Neil is a working-class, award-winning neurodivergent writer and director for film and television, who has gained critical acclaim for his work in both mediums.
Neil's short film, Mirrors, which he wrote and directed, premiered at the BFI Flare Film Festival and was released on Boys on Film 11, subsequently screening at festivals around the world. His work received critical acclaim, with Neil being runner-up for Best of British at the Iris Prize in 2015.
In addition to his work in film, Neil has also co-written and directed a stage musical, Closets, which was performed to sell-out audiences and rave reviews at Hope Mill Theatre.
Neil is currently working on a new musical, alongside Grammy Award-winning composer Eliot Kennedy and co-writer Lloyd Eyre-Morgan. Furthermore, he is set to co-write a new British horror film, Kill PILL.
In 2020, Neil co-wrote and created a coming-of-age short film, S.A.M., which explores acceptance and the experiences of people living with a learning disability in regards to love and sexuality. The film, which was supported by Mencap, stars Cbeebies presenter and Mencap ambassador George Webster, Hollyoaks actor David Tag, and Ackley Bridge's Sam Retford.
The team behind S.A.M. is currently in development for a feature-length version of the film.
