Nancy Florence Savard was born in Quebec City, where she earned her bachelor's from degree Laval University. She began her television career in Montreal, spending ten years working as a journalist, designer, director, product manager, and associate producer for various large media groups in Montreal and Quebec City.
In 1998, Nancy Florence Savard founded her own production company, 10th Ave Productions, in Saint-Augustin-De-Desmaures, while also starting her family of three children. She is a pioneer in computer-assisted animation and co-produced and directed the first 100% Canadian-made 3D animated feature, The Legend of Sarila, which was released theatrically in 2013.
The Legend of Sarila was a groundbreaking film that made Nancy Florence Savard the first Canadian woman to direct an 80-minute stereoscopic (3D) feature. She received numerous awards at the Toronto International Film Festival for this film and was awarded the Birks Diamond Tribute in 2014, recognizing her as a woman of the year in the film industry.
In 2014, Nancy Florence Savard also produced the first 100% Quebec-made French-language feature, Le Coq de St-Victor, which was acquired by a major US studio for distribution in 98 countries. Her production company, 10th Ave Productions, released its third 100% Canadian-made animated feature, A Yeti Adventure, in 2017.
A Yeti Adventure was followed by Nancy Florence Savard's fourth animated feature, Felix and the Hidden Treasure, which was released theatrically in 67 cinemas across Quebec in 2021. Throughout her career, Nancy Florence Savard has been committed to community involvement, serving on the board of directors of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (Sodec) and the Conseil national du cinéma et de la télévision (CNCT).
She has also been a strong advocate for the animation sector, serving as the chair of the Table de concertation de l'industrie du cinéma et de la télévision de la Capitale-Nationale, which she founded in 2016. Nancy Florence Savard's dedication to her craft and her community has earned her numerous awards and recognition throughout her career.
