Nathan Phan, the eldest of four children born to Vietnamese immigrants Hien and Quyen Phan, embarked on a life-changing journey at the tender age of one, relocating to Glasgow, Scotland with his family. This pivotal move would ultimately shape his future, as he discovered that his remarkable ability to do voices and make people laugh served as a powerful defense mechanism against being picked on. Furthermore, he began honing his sleight-of-hand magic skills, which would later become an integral part of his impressive repertoire.
As he returned to Southern California, Nathan's creative pursuits flourished, and he started writing short stories and song parodies that he could perform for his friends. His talent and dedication earned him a spot at the prestigious Orange County School of the Arts and its esteemed Creative Writing conservatory.
During his junior year at O.C.H.S.A., Nathan received an invitation from his Creative Writing teacher, John Blaylock, son of renowned fantasy author James P. Blaylock, to audition for a musical at a local children's theater company. This marked the beginning of an impressive eight-show stage production streak, accompanied by numerous student films, and his debut role in the studio feature film Superbad, which he secured due to his uncanny Christopher Walken impression.
Nathan's multifaceted talents know no bounds. He has effortlessly transitioned between Shakespeare, Chekhov, commedia del'arte, farce, and improv shows, showcasing his impressive vocal range, which spans four octaves. He is a skilled pianist and ukulele player, and his written works include screenplays, short stories, and poetry. Moreover, Nathan is a world-class magician, proficient in close-up sleight-of-hand, mentalism, and stage illusions, having appeared on numerous magic TV shows, including Masters of Illusion, Wizard Wars, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us. He is a regular performer at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, solidifying his reputation as a master of his craft.
