Muhsin Parari started his career in the film industry by directing the music album Native Bapa in 2012, starring Mamukkoya in the lead role. He then worked as an assistant director on the feature films 5 Sundarikal in 2013 and Last Supper in 2014. His first film as a director was KL 10 Patthu, released in 2015.
In 2016, Muhsin returned with the sequel to Native Bapa, titled Funeral of a Native Son. He co-wrote the movie Sudani from Nigeria with director Zakariya Mohammed in 2018, which received five Kerala State Film Awards, including the Best Screenplay award. His next project was Virus, a film directed by Aashiq Abu, set against the backdrop of the 2018 Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala. Muhsin co-wrote the screenplay with Suhas and Sharafu.
In 2020, Muhsin released Halal Love Story, the second feature film by Zakariya Mohammed after Sudani from Nigeria. Muhsin co-wrote the script and also served as a co-producer of the movie alongside Zakariya. He is also the writer of an upcoming movie titled Thallumaala, and will serve as a co-director on the period film Vaariyamkunnan, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.
In addition to his work as a director and writer, Muhsin is also a lyricist, and has penned songs for films such as Thamaasha, Virus, and Halal Love Story.
