Person Biography:
Morgan Muscat was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and spent most of his life in Mississauga, where he attended school and worked various jobs. Growing up, he developed a strong interest in filmmaking and graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School in 1998. He then pursued his passion at York University's Faculty of Arts, majoring in English Media. After a three-year hiatus, Morgan returned to education by enrolling at Sheridan College's Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, where he studied Media Arts and was mentored by renowned Canadian film and television professionals.
Morgan's fascination with filmmaking began at a young age, when he started writing stories and scripts for classroom assignments. He joined the local drama club and acted in stage productions such as "The Outsiders", "The Crucible", "Death of a Salesman", and "7 Stories". In 2000, he became a production assistant on the American cooking show "The Gathering Place". In 2005, Morgan founded Moonlit Road Entertainment and began producing short films, including "Duel", "Title Match", and "Hurricane Hazel: A Tribute to Hazel McCallion".
Morgan's extensive credits include work as a production assistant on TV shows like "Departures" and "So You Think You Can Dance Canada", as well as independent features like "Six Reasons Why", "Black Eve", "Burning Daylight", "Reviving Ophelia", and "There is No Undo". He is currently working on his new short film, "Severance", and producing the upcoming horror short "The Devil Walks Among You".
Awards and recognition have followed Morgan's career, including the Speak Up! Film Festival SFX Award and a nomination for Emerging Media Arts at the Marty Awards in Mississauga, Ontario. In 2010, he won the MARTY Award for Emerging Media Arts and acquired the rights to adapt Stephen King's short story "Suffer the Little Children". With his determination and passion for filmmaking, Morgan is undoubtedly a rising talent in the industry.
