Paul Methric, also known as Hektic, started his musical career in 1993 as an original member of House of Krazees, a hip-hop group that released five albums between 1993 and 1996.
As a teenager, Methric began rapping in high school, initially freestyling with friend Jamie Spaniolo and other kids. However, they never felt great at coming up with rhymes, and instead looked up to late-rapper Proof, who they described as "the mecca of freestyling".
Methric and Spaniolo also participated in freestyle battles at the HipHop Shop on a weekly basis, honing their skills and building their confidence.
After leaving House of Krazees due to problems with their label, Latnem Entertainment, Methric and Spaniolo reemerged as Twiztid in 1997, signing with Insane Clown Posse's Psychopathic Records.
Initially, Twiztid faced resistance from the Juggalo fanbase, with many fans booing them and even getting into fights with them. However, with the release of their debut album Mostasteless, Twiztid began to gain acceptance from the fanbase, and their rapport with Insane Clown Posse improved.
In 1999, Twiztid signed with Island Records, and their album Mostasteless was re-released. However, they soon returned to Psychopathic Records and released Freek Show, which debuted at #51 on the Billboard charts and helped to grow their fan base.
Throughout their career, Twiztid has remained loyal to Psychopathic Records, and have even helped to sign other artists to the label. In 2012, it was announced that Twiztid had left Psychopathic Records, marking a significant change in their career.
