Monica Lawson is a New York-trained actress who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Following her graduation, Monica dedicated her career to theatre, performing with esteemed companies such as The Classical Theater of Harlem, The Flea Theater, and The Bank Street Theater.
In addition to her theatre work, Monica honed her skills as a voiceover artist, lending her voice to prominent brands including Home Depot and MTV. She also developed a passion for comedy, studying sketch at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and even co-founding an improv comedy group that performed in various venues throughout New York City.
Monica's diverse experience in theatre, voiceover, and comedy eventually led her to Los Angeles, where she sought to further her career in film and television. Upon arrival, she quickly landed a CBS pilot and a National Commercial for Budlight, and continued her comedic studies at The Groundlings School under the guidance of instructors Scott Beehner and Drew Droege.
Now a working actress in Los Angeles, Monica has appeared in independent films, TV roles for CBS and ABC, including CSI, NCIS, and General Hospital, as well as a national print campaign for Clairol and various other commercials.
Monica remains committed to her theatrical pursuits in Los Angeles, performing sketch at Second City Hollywood and with theatre companies such as the Alliance Repertory Theater, The SkyPilot Theater Co., and the highly regarded Open Fist Theater Company, where she starred in their production of Horton Foote's Foot Notes, directed by actor Scott Paulin.
In addition to her acting career, Monica has founded a production company, BOND Motion Pictures, where she has produced short films and is currently working on her first feature.
