Mitchell Leib is the President of Music & Soundtracks for The Walt Disney Studios, overseeing music creative, production, and administration support for all live-action films, while optimizing ancillary development of Disney's soundtrack interests. With nearly 30 years of experience at Disney, including 15 years as President of Music & Soundtracks, Leib has played a crucial role in the success of numerous films.
Prior to his current position, Leib served as Senior Vice President of Soundtracks at Disney's Buena Vista Music Group and Hollywood Records for seven years. Before joining Disney, Leib held various leadership positions at Regency Enterprises/Warner Brothers, Arista Records, and EMI Records Group.
Leib's career at Disney began in the early 1990s, when he served as Senior Director of Music, overseeing the production of multi-platinum soundtracks for films such as Pretty Woman, Cocktail, Beaches, and Good Morning Vietnam. Over the course of his 35+ year career, Leib has been an artist manager, music publisher, label executive, and film music executive, working on over 400 feature films and producing soundtracks that have achieved record sales of 75 million records.
In his personal life, Leib is a third-generation native Los Angelean, married to his wife Stacy for 28 years, and has two children, Rachel and Jordan.
