Misha Collins is a multi-talented individual with a passion for inspiring cultural and civic engagement through his work. Born Misha Dmitri Tippens Krushnic in Boston, Massachusetts, he is of Hungarian-Russian Jewish, German, English, Scottish, and Irish ancestry. Before pursuing a career in acting, Collins had a diverse background, which included working as a carpenter and woodworker, interning at the White House during the Clinton Administration, and working at National Public Radio headquarters. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in Social Theory.
Collins is a vocal activist for progressive causes and has used his social media platforms to amplify social issues, generate political activism, and motivate social good. He is the creator of GISH, a global scavenger hunt that uses creativity to "game-ify" goodwill and generate social change. GISH has been played in over 100 countries and has had a significant impact on various social causes.
As a founder of the non-profit organization Random Acts, Collins has inspired supporters to engage in acts of social good, such as building a school in Nicaragua and a children's center in Haiti. He is also the author of the best-selling cookbook "The Adventurous Eater's Club" and has published poetry in literary journals.
