Biography

Mischa's creative journey began in high school, where he utilized a Super-8 camera to bring to life the stories he had been crafting since childhood. He honed his filmmaking skills through a traditional and hands-on approach, studying every screenplay he could access, borrowing equipment from freelance jobs, recruiting friends to join his projects, and shooting films on weekends.

Mischa's debut feature film, The Kill Hole, premiered at the prestigious Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2012, starring Chadwick Boseman in his first leading role as a troubled Iraqi war veteran, alongside Tory Kittles and Billy Zane. The film received widespread acclaim, earning several awards on the festival circuit before its theatrical and digital release.

Recognized for his original, character-driven storytelling, Mischa's writing has garnered recognition from various film festivals and competitions. He has secured finalist placements at the Austin Film Festival script competition, among others. In 2020, his pitch for the surrealist musical adventure stoner comedy, Black Cabbie, took the top prize at AFF's pitch competition.

Mischa's most recent short film, Metal, premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2021, showcasing his continued dedication to crafting unique and captivating stories.
