Miles Daisher is a passionate individual who has dedicated his life to pushing the limits of his sport, creating new and innovative aspects such as skyaking and rope-swing BASE jumping.
"It's a magical thing when you fall out of the air," Miles exclaims, highlighting his love for canopy work. With an impressive track record of over 4,500 BASE jumps and 3,100 skydives, Miles has set numerous records throughout his career.
Born into a military family, Miles grew up on various military bases, which has had a significant impact on his athletic abilities. He won the UK wrestling championship and pole vault titles, and made his first solo skydive at the age of 25. Two years later, he made his inaugural BASE jump.
Today, Miles is a renowned instructor who teaches skydivers how to BASE jump. He also organizes the annual Perrine Bridge Festival with his wife Nikki, which raises money for children with special needs.
Miles is always eager to advocate for new sports, such as skyaking, which involves aerobatic skydiving while seated in a kayak, and rope-swing BASE jumping, where a freewheeling BASE jump is launched by swinging off a building or bridge.
In addition to his athletic pursuits, Miles has also made a name for himself in the film industry, starring in high-budget movies such as Iron Man 3 and Human Flight 3D. When asked about his experience on set, Miles jokes, "Instead of actors that do their own stunts, we're stunt men that do our own acting."
Miles' most recent achievement came in 2017, when he set a new world record for the most unassisted BASE jumps in 24-hours, with a total of 63 jumps. Over the course of the 24-hour period, Miles climbed an impressive 30,500 vertical feet, exceeding the height of Mount Everest by 1,500 feet.
