Biography

Mike's career in the film and television industry spans over two decades, commencing in 1999 with his involvement in the CBC series STREET CENTS, where he worked as the West-Coast Producer for seven seasons, earning the prestigious award for the series.

In the year 2001, Mike participated in the NSI's Drama Prize program, simultaneously completing a CFTPA producer mentorship. Prior to relocating to Vancouver, Mike held the position of junior writer on the CTV series Corner Gas.

In Vancouver, Mike took on the roles of director and producer for various television series, including 969 (RazerTV),Living Vancouver (CBC),and Exposure (CBC). As he transitioned into the digital space, he served as the Senior Producer for On Demand Production Network, creating branded content.

Upon moving to Toronto in 2009, Mike focused primarily on producing content for digital release, earning recognition as a sought-after consultant due to his expertise in the digital space. His web series credits include The Improv Monologue Project, Comedy Bar (Bite TV),Versus Valerie (IPF),The Casting Room, Space Janitors (Geek & Sundry),V Morgan is Dead (Smokebomb),But, I'm Chris Jericho (Showcase Action/CBC),Body Buds (DHX & CBC Punchline),The Amazing Gayl Pile (season 4 - CBC),and directing numerous exclusive comedy shorts for The Second City Network.

Recent television credits include directing for Gaming Show in my Parent's Garage (Disney XD),directing the Writer's Room pieces for The Second City Project (Global),editing I, Martin Short Goes Home (CBC),Bajillionaires (NBC/Universal),and acting as the Senior Editor for Baroness Von Sketch Show (CBC),for which he received two Canadian Screen Awards in 2017 and 2018.

Mike's short films include Zaide, Privilege, One Afternoon, and Come to Bed, which was selected to participate in the 2017 CBC's Short Film Face Off.

In 2016, Mike earned his Master of Arts in Film from Staffordshire University. He serves as a jury member for various awards and festivals, including the Canadian Screen Awards, Canadian Comedy Awards, International Academy of Web Television Awards, TO WebFest, Raindance Film Festival, the Geekie Awards, and the Director's Guild of Canada Awards.

Additionally, Mike is a mentor and instructor for the National Screen Institute and TELUS STORYHIVE.
