Biography

Mike Dazé is a multifaceted individual with a background in filmmaking, acting, and production design. He is married to Ashley West Dazé, whom he wed on March 10, 2019, in Saint Augustine, Florida. Born into a family with a rich heritage, Mike is the youngest of four children, with a twin brother, David, and sisters Colette and Nicole.

Mike's parents, Sharleen Carlan and retired Navy Commander Kit Carlan, reside in Maui, Hawaii, where they sell real estate. His father, David Tmothy Dazé, is an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles and is married to Stacy Dazé. Mike's educational background includes Loyola High School, Los Angeles, and Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a BA in Theatre Arts.

As a young boy, Mike began his journey in the performing arts by singing professionally with the St. Mel Boy Choir in Woodland Hills, CA, under the direction of William D. Usher II. He later focused on track and field, becoming a pole vaulter for four years at Loyola HS. In his senior year, he took an elective acting class under the guidance of Mr. Walter Wolfe, which sparked his interest in acting.

Mike's college years were marked by international tours with rock and roll bands as a roadie and tour manager. During his final semester at LMU, he studied abroad in Bonn, Germany, and Moscow, Russia, at the Moscow Art Theatre, MXAT, under the direction of Diane Benedict M.F.A. He performed in a production of Peter Brooks' Conference of the Birds, which toured the Schauspielhaus, Bonn, MXAT, and the Theatre Museum in Dusseldorf.

After university, Mike worked in film production in Hollywood as a Production Assistant for various TV series and films. He spent a year on Oahu, Hawai'i, acting in radiocommercials, short independent films, and with The Actors Group Theater Company in Honolulu. He performed in Ernest J. Gaines' A Lesson Before Dying as Paul Bonin, under the direction of Laurie Tanoura.

Mike's time in New York City was marked by his love for the city and his decision to stay for two and a half years. During this period, he spent two years under the tutelage of Terry Schreiber at T. Schreiber Studio, where he also served as facilities manager, Technical Director, and Lead Carpenter for two off-off-Broadway productions. His performance in the spring of 2011 received notable reviews, with critics praising his talent and polish.

With the confidence of Terry Schreiber, Mike returned to Los Angeles, CA, in the fall of 2011 to pursue his acting career.
