Ichikawa Mikako, a talented Japanese actress, was born in Tokyo, Japan, to a family with a notable sibling, her older sister Mikawo Ichikawa. Before turning 20, Mikako began her career in modeling, exclusively gracing the pages of Olive magazine, sporting longer locks during that period. As she entered her twenties, she transitioned to the big screen, making her film debut in 2000 with Timeless Melody.
In the following year, 2001, Mikako appeared in Blue, a film that explored themes of teenage lesbianism and bisexuality in Japan, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Notably, she had already made the transition to shorter hair at this point. Her outstanding performance earned her the Best Actress award at the 24th Moscow International Film Festival.
