Mika Amonsen, a native of a small town situated just outside the vibrant city of Toronto, Canada, was nurtured in a family that deeply revered the arts. His mother, a skilled dancer, and his father, a devoted rock 'n' roll enthusiast, enthusiastically supported his early enthusiasm for music. At the tender age of 13, Mika picked up the electric guitar and devoted the next five years to playing in a rock band. The band, which he was an integral part of, recorded a ten-track album, performed at large local venues, and had the esteemed privilege of opening for notable Canadian acts such as the renowned Kim Mitchell.
Following his high school graduation, Mika transitioned from music to academics, enrolling in university while still maintaining a strong connection to his creative passions. Although he had always been an admirer of film and had taken drama in high school, Mika never envisioned acting as a career path. However, his growing fascination with actors like Tom Hardy, Heath Ledger, and Christian Bale led his peers to encourage him to explore the craft further.
By the end of his first year in university, Mika shifted his focus to acting, enrolling in acting classes in Toronto and signing with an agency shortly thereafter. His dedication and perseverance quickly paid off, with notable roles alongside Alan Ritchson in Reacher, a collaboration with director Eli Roth in Thanksgiving, and an upcoming role in Whistle, set to begin filming later this year.
